Chapter 42

  • She raised the binoculars to her eyes again. Watching the contestants kill each other was torturous. Almost all of them had prepared in advance secret weapons or things that would help them in the battle. They were so bloodthirsty and feral; like they had appeared from a nightmare. It felt like they had no souls. They just craved destruction. Nothing more. And Keiran was somewhere there, unarmed and alone. Some of the contestants were starting to form teams and were gathering at certain points. But they were also dying like flies.
  • Everything pointed this was going to be a quick race. But it was so intense and scary. The beautiful gardens that had caught Helena's eyes before all this began had turned into a sinister graveyard. There were human and lycan parts all over the place, and the stench quickly spread around the castle. It was horrendous. How could they live like this? This sight made her understand even better why Keiran was so against telling her about his origin and past. She knew not everybody would be able to take it.
  • “What is he doing?!” Alden whisper-yelled under his breath, a muscle pounded in his jaw. His eyes were hidden behind the binocular.
