Chapter 54

• When Helena reached the dungeons, the first thing that hit her was the putrid smell. This was like a graveyard. It was a place where so many people had died. Too many. And it showed. The walls were dirty and full of excrements and piss, the ceilings were short and black. It was a place she didn't want to spend even a minute in, and Keiran had already been there for a few hours.
• The quietness of this place was eerie. She was sure she had seen guards coming down. So why were they not here? She couldn't smell or sense them. They had just disappeared into thin air. She walked slowly, her cold hands sweating. This tension was unbearable.
• Something on the left shifted and hit the cell's grids. Helena jumped back and took the pepper spray out.
