Chapter 28

  • When Helena got up from her bed in the middle of the night, she climbed down to the first floor to grab something to drink. Her sour mood worsened by what—who—she found in the kitchen. Penelope.
  • She groaned to herself but decided to give her a chance. Maybe Keiran's friend just had to accept he had already found his mate and they were together. Helena wasn't a person who hated others without a reason. Not that she didn't have a reason to hate Penelope, but... Penelope hadn't actually done anything bad. Yes, she was annoying and pushy, but maybe that was who she was? She deserved a chance. Or Helena was going to be generous and give her one. This was a weird mood she was in. Giving a chance to someone she couldn't stand. She scoffed lightly to herself.
  • There was another thing gnarling at her mind. Whatever her relationship with the 'P' bitc— Penelope was, she had to learn to deal and communicate with her. They were tied together for the rest of their lives. There was no escaping that. Penelope was going to be a part of Keiran's life, no matter what happened. She was either going to become his queen, or she was going to work as his subordinate. So, them becoming friends could solve everything.
