Chapter 59 Carina

• We need to find a way out of here. It's been over a week since Giovanni brought us to this place. True to his word, he didn't lock the door or threaten us not to leave but that doesn't mean we can do whatever we want. He didn't post any guards at the door but only an idiot would attempt to escape. There's nowhere we would go that he wouldn't find us. However, the longer we continue staying here, the more our lives are in danger. Giovanni could walk in any moment, shoot us and no one would ever question him. For all I know, he told Padre I died at De Luca's so he could sell me or take my organs. I wouldn't put that past him. Leaving means running forever and staying means waiting for death. There's no such thing as a better option. Only survival matters. And I'm done being a sitting duck.
• "Damiano?" I call out heading to the living room. The house is a small two bedroom with barely any furniture. It looks like a place where Giovanni or some of his men crash whenever they're free. Surprisingly though, there was enough food in the fridge and we've been ordering whenever we didn't feel like cooking. No one stopped the delivery guys and if I hadn't grown up in this world, I would have thought we weren't being watched. Except that's not true. Just because we don't see them doesn't mean they're not there. I find Damiano outback looking for God knows what. Ever since we arrived, he's turned this place upside down "What are you doing?"
• "Oh, hey babe. Are you hungry? I can make us some food" It's four in the afternoon. We ate lunch like two hours ago.
