Chapter 63 The Woods

• The car drove steadily, leaving the city behind until it entered the forest, and I watched through the window as the buildings and streetlights faded away, replaced by towering trees and endless darkness. The road became rougher, the ride more bumpy, until the car slowed and came to a halt at the edge of the forest.
• I looked around, but nothing looked familiar. This wasn’t the part of the forest I recognized, and that realization sent a shiver down my spine.
