• “Are you sure you don’t want me to go with you?” Oleander asked, taking my hand before pulling me against him, and I assured him I was sure. He hugged and kissed me before handing me his car keys, but I told him I was taking a cab.
• I had a manual license, and while it allowed me to drive automatics, I had only ever driven manuals. Oleander's car was an automatic, and I had no idea how to operate one. I had heard it was easy, but I had never driven one before and I didn’t want to cause problems for him.
