Chapter 26 In Love

• I looked up from my phone to see Oleander enter the room, staring at his phone. I almost forgot that he was waiting for his results today. He had been anxious all week and had worked late into the night for the past month to prepare for his exams. I hoped he passed; otherwise, I was going to feel terrible because the guy had had a crazy three months between my mental breakdowns and studying for his exams.
• Tonight was my final night at the Blackwood’s, and as strange as it may sound, I was going to miss him. Five days after securing the apartment, I finished gathering everything I needed to move and I’m finally ready to move. Oleander helped me set up at the apartment and even gave it a fresh coat of paint after I hinted that I didn't like the color they had on, after all. However, despite pretending to be okay and excited for me because he had promised to stop interfering, he was still unhappy with my decision. He wanted me to stay close to him, but I needed my own space. He was even paranoid on our way to the apartment the other day, claiming there was a black car following us. His concerns were genuine, but he needed to let go.
