Chapter 29 Sheer Panic

• I abruptly sat up, awoken by my phone’s ringtone, and realized I had overslept. I got out of bed and went to the couch, where the phone was ringing, rubbing my eyes, still exhausted. But the phone stopped just as I picked it up.
• It was Kade, so I called him back. He apologized for calling so late, saying he had called earlier but I did not answer. I explained that I had been sleeping and he asked if I was still going to help him paint tomorrow or if he needed to find someone else to help him, but I assured him that I would, and then we talked about other things. I was yawning throughout the conversation and that caused him to end the call realizing I was tired.
