Chapter 30 The Golden-eyed Wolf

- In a desperate maneuver, I twisted mid-air, throwing Rayne to the far corner that had not yet caught fire, before crashing hard and landing amidst the flames. Pain seared through me as my clothes caught fire, and I rolled to extinguish the flames before scrambling to my feet with no time to pause or focus on the pain.
- I scooped Rayne back into my arms, my vision blurred from the smoke and pain, and dashed to the window, leaping out onto the trees.
