• The luxury restaurant was bustling with the evening crowd, but the group had managed to secure a quiet table by the window. Mr. and Mrs. Brown, Liz's parents, were sipping their drinks and waiting for Gage to arrive. Liz was sitting next to them, chatting with Mr. Harrison, Gage's father.
• "I'm sure he'll be here soon," Mr. Harrison said, smiling at Liz's parents. "Gage must be busy."
• Liz jumped to Gage's defense. "Actually, Dad, Mom, Gage is a writer. He often gets busy with his writing when a sudden idea comes up."
