• Karen's expression turned concerned, and she sat down beside Nicole on the couch. "Are you sure, Nicole? You don't have to come until you're feeling better. You're still recovering, and I don't want you to overexert yourself."
• Nicole shook her head, her eyes shining with determination. "I'm fine, Mom. Don't worry about me. I can walk now, and I want to get out of the house and do something. I want to spend time with you and help out at the bakery."
• Karen's face softened, and she smiled at her daughter. "Okay, sweetie. If you're sure you're up to it, then I'd love to have you come with me to the bakery. We can take it easy, and you can just help out with some of the lighter tasks."
