Chapter 19 Drunk

• Meanwhile, Becky was preparing dinner in the kitchen when Erin returned home to the Coral Pavilion. After she left her bag on the couch in the living room, Erin walked over to get herself a bottle of juice from the fridge. “Is Uncle Arthur home yet, Mrs. Kay?” she asked as she unscrewed the cap off the bottle.
• “Mr. Harrison just phoned; he said that he won’t be coming home for dinner as he has to meet some clients,” Becky’s voice replied from inside the kitchen. Erin was about to sip on her juice when she heard Becky’s response. She pressed her delicate eyebrows into a frown as she lost her interest in drinking her juice. “Why didn’t he tell me that he’s not coming home?” she grumbled.
• During dinner, Becky strode past the dining hall to see Erin sat by the table with her head hung low as she stabbed the bowl of rice with her chopsticks. The young girl looked as if she didn’t enjoy her meal at all. Becky walked in after some hesitation. “Do you not like the meal prepared today, Miss Erin? You can tell me what you’d like to eat; I can prepare it for you immediately.”
