Chapter 10 She Was Really Terrified

  • Erin’s eyes instantly widened as her heart nearly jumped out of her throat. Then, her mouth was forced open while she was completely unprepared.
  • “Mmm…” Erin opened her eyes as wide as possible. Suddenly coming to her senses, she hurriedly attempted to shove the man’s body out of her way with her fair and tender hands. “Uncle… Mmm! Uncle Arthur…”
  • However, her resistance seemed to have angered Arthur instead. With deep furrows in his brow, he grabbed her resisting hands and held them up above the pillow before proceeding to kiss her further with his eyes closed.
  • Click!
  • The bedside lamp was switched on, and its blinding light instantly illuminated the dark room.
  • Arthur breathed heavily as beads of sweat dripped from his sculpted face and the tanned and muscular chest exposed by his gaping night robe. His deep, cold eyes were bloodshot at this moment as he stared fixedly at the pale-faced lady who was weeping tremblingly beneath him.
  • Erin’s eyes kept gushing tears purely because Arthur had frightened her. She didn’t dare to imagine what would happen next if she didn’t burst into tears just now.
  • Staring at Erin, Arthur found himself unable to confirm whether this was reality or a dream.
  • He thought he had a dream just now…
  • He kissed her passionately and was even a step away from actually forcing himself on her in his dream. However, he heard her crying, so he stopped.
  • Arthur closed his eyes before opening them again. Erin was still beneath him with her eyes reddened…
  • Arthur’s back trembled slightly as he suddenly realized he wasn’t dreaming. Furrowing his long brows instantly, he looked at the disheveled Erin—whose lips were swollen as she lay beneath him—with a complicated look in his eyes.
  • Erin sat cross-legged on the bed with a thin blanket wrapped around herself. An hour had passed since then, yet her eyes were still red as she looked at Arthur, who had spent nearly an hour smoking in front of the French window while wearing a night robe.
  • “I’m sorry.” This was the first sentence Arthur said to her so far, and his voice was a little deep and hoarse from smoking.
  • Erin’s moist eyelashes fluttered before her tears, which she had barely held back just now, gushed out again.
  • She was really terrified.
  • Arthur’s slender fingers that were holding a cigarette curled when he didn’t hear Erin speak. He turned around and gazed intently at Erin with his deep eyes as his thin lips compressed into a straight line.
  • He couldn’t explain why such a thing happened, nor did he want to give any explanation. However, he felt a little frustrated as he looked at how Erin pouted her lips and was close to tears.
  • Perhaps, in her eyes, I’m like a pervert who molests underage girls!
  • “I’m sorry, Uncle Arthur.”
  • Arthur’s pupils shrank. Astounded, he turned to look at Erin speechlessly.
  • Erin sniffled a little through her reddened nose before raising her teary eyes to look at him. “I won’t enter your room as I please anymore, e-especially at night.”
  • An unfathomable look flickered in Arthur’s eyes.
  • “You wouldn’t have mistaken me for someone else had I not come tonight,” added Erin in a low voice, her face blushing.
  • She didn’t lose sight of the shock in Arthur’s eyes when he saw her the instant the bedside lamp was switched on. This proves that he didn’t know it was me since he thought it was someone else, thought Erin to herself.
  • Arthur was 12 years older than her, and now he was almost 30 years old.
  • Erin hadn’t experienced such things before, but it didn’t mean that she had no knowledge of them.
  • It’s said that a man’s sexual desire is the strongest when he’s at Uncle Arthur’s age, so it’s quite normal that Uncle Arthur wants to do that kind of thing. It’s just that the last thing I should’ve done is to come into his room at night. He wouldn’t have mistaken me for someone else had I not come; alas, I have only myself to blame.
  • As the thought came into her mind, Erin thought she had a responsibility to break the awkward silence between them right now. Therefore, she looked at Arthur with a pair of eyes that were as clear as water. “Uncle Arthur, let’s pretend that nothing happened tonight. This is a misunderstanding, after all.”
  • Pretend that nothing happened? The furrows in Arthur’s brows deepened instead as he fixed an unfathomable look on her fair and tender face.
  • Erin blinked before getting out of bed with her body wrapped in the blanket. Her feet, revealed under the blanket, were flawlessly fair, and her toes looked as round and lovely as ten lustrous white pearls.
  • Arthur glanced at her feet.
  • Erin stood for two seconds, then wriggled her toes and was about to turn around and leave to avoid further embarrassment.
  • “Get back into the bed and stay there!” ordered Arthur in a deep voice.
  • Erin pursed her lips while looking at Arthur.
  • Arthur gave her a long stare before asking slowly, “Aren’t you afraid of thunder?”
  • As if to confirm what he had said, there was a sudden clap of thunder outside as soon as he finished his sentence.
  • Erin instantly cringed in fear, and her face turned pale as she rushed at Arthur without thinking.
  • Arthur spread his arms wide when she rushed at him.
  • He tightened his arms and pressed Erin to his chest tightly the instant her supple body sank into his arms. Then, his large hand gently patted her trembling back from behind as he assured softly, “I’m here.”
  • Erin closed her eyes in his arms, but her long eyelashes fluttered uncontrollably.
  • It was on such a rainy night that her parents left her forever.
