Chapter 7

  • Zaya's POV
  • My eyes squinted a little when I heard the door on my room squeaked, suggesting that someone came in. Too exhausted and eyes too tired, I did not even bother checking who it is. Well, it's probably just one of the girls. I and the girls were supposed to do a Video live this evening but my body isn't really cooperating right now.
  • After Snow and the girls had woken me up earlier from my short slumber, we quickly made our way back to the dorm so I can take a rest. I can barely even remember how I was able to get in the house because I was damn sure I was stone-cold and knocked-out on the van earlier.
  • If I weren't actually sleeping on the couch on a music show, I swear I wouldn't even move an inch. A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips when I remember how peacefully I have been sleeping earlier.
  • I was dreaming about my husband. Yeah, my jerk of a husband, Seth Devon.
  • But it's a little weird because he was so sweet which perhaps made me identify that it is indeed just a dream because, yeah, Seth Devon isn't sweet. At least not to me.
  • Thinking that the person who just came in was Snow who probably went to check on me again, which she's been doing every thirty minutes, I called out her name, my throat feeling a little dry.
  • "Snow... Can I have a glass of water?" I sweetly asked to her, my voice hoarse so it came out as a whisper.
  • "Of course, Zaya. One second." After a few minutes, I felt someone sat beside my bed. I slowly moved my body upwards so I can sit down.
  • "Drink this as well."
  • I saw medicine in front of me which I gladly took to my mouth before pushing it with warm water. Once done, I slowly moved back so I can rest my head back to my pillow.
  • Before my consciousness left me, my eyes saw two figures leaving out your room. One, I was sure was Snow, the other, I thought was familiar but my unstable self could no longer distinguish.
  • No, impossible. I told to myself.
  • ----------
  • My body slightly shivers, the coldness in the room slowly drowning in my system. My hands moved across the bed, trying to locate the blanket that was covering me earlier, hoping that it would at least ease the coldness that is seeping through my body.
  • After trying so hard, I soon gave up and settled into just hugging my body with my own hands. I regret not changing into my pajamas before crashing into bed.
  • But then, I felt the warm skin enveloped throughout my body, my bed moving a little as the weight of the person slowly caving in, the smell of a familiar perfume creeping all over the place.
  • Once the warm skin made contact to mine, I felt my body stopped shaking a little, finally enjoying the heat
  • "Hmmm, " I mumbled as I pulled the person's body a little closer, desperately trying to borrow the warmth freely being offered.
  • Then I heard a chuckle. My eyes flew open and saw a pair of deep-set eyes, curved into a smile.
  • My breath hitched, unable to process the sight before me. A chuckle escaped my lips.
  • "Why do I keep dreaming about you?" I muttered.
  • The face of the person before looked amuse, his nose scrunched up a little.
  • "You do?" he whispered.
  • "Ow! And now you're answering!" I beamed like a kid who was finally given her candy.
  • "Do you always dream about me?" his voice soft as if afraid of what my answer would be. Once again, I closed my eyes, trying to fight back the urge of going back to sleep.
  • Fuck those meds.
  • "You okay?" he mumbled.
  • I moved a little, snuggling a little closer to the man that has been constantly bugging off my mind.
  • "I'm fine..." I replied. My eyes shot back open, checking to see if his face is still visible in front of me.
  • Unable to resist, my right hand automatically started moving on its own, tracing the beautiful lines of his face, carefully memorizing every angle of it.
  • You look cute.
  • "In my dreams, you always seem to be sweet and caring"
  • Confusion flooded to his eyes but he didn't dare to interrupt me because somehow, maybe he's wishing he'd hear a lot more of my thoughts.
  • "That's why I know when it's a dream." feeling proud of yourself. I can't stop rambling still thinking that he's just one hell of an illusion.
  • "My dickface of a husband wouldn't cuddle like this with me if this is real."
  • Again, his face frown, his facial expression too stern, I'm starting to feel weird why the man in front of me seems to show a lot of emotions in my dream.
  • "He's dickface to you, huh?" he asked. "But I don't remember shoving my dick to any face lately," he muttered.
  • "He's also a jerk, a stupid and arrogant Mr. Know-it-all," you said still smiling. I watch as his face frown even more.
  • "But I don't actually hate him. In fact, I feel bad for him"
  • Yes, I don't hate you that much Seth Devon.
  • I hate to admit it but he's not really at fault in this entire situation. For what's it's worth, he's as equally fucked up into this situation as I am coz he doesn't have a say either. He might actually have someone special in his life and his weird relationship with me might be pulling him back.
  • "May I ask why?"
  • I scrunched up my nose. My index finger suddenly started poking his cute little cheeks.
  • "Where are those fluffy cheeks?" I asked, saddened that his cute fluffy cheeks are no longer to be found and yet, your eyes still linger on the more defined features that are glowing on his face.
  • I heard him chuckle.
  • "You're weird."
  • I smiled. "I am," I told him, a yawn escaping my lips.
  • "Go back to sleep." he softly muttered while he tries to get up from the bed, escaping from the snuggle session that you've come to get used with even in just five minutes.
  • It feels like forever. But, like a good like forever.
  • Unintentionally, a soft whimper escaped my mouth, not wanting to let this man who I still think is just magically appearing in my dreams just go yet.
  • "Stay..." my eyes watering, both due to my body temperature and perhaps, due to sleep calling me.
  • I saw him gulped. My eyes grew confused when I saw how he seemed hesitant for a moment before he slowly goes back cuddling with me.
  • "Okay then, go back to sleep, I'll stay with you..."
  • I smiled before closing my eyes, his presence somehow makes me feel at ease. And I'm liking this strange feeling. Definitely liking it.
  • Just as I was about to shut my eyes, I was sure I heard him mutter something familiar.
  • "Sleep tight, my princess..."
  • And then I fell asleep.
