Chapter 34 The Holiday Pt1

• Once everything happened with Harris I began to see less and less of Luke. Our deal with Peyton was put on a temporary hold. Peyton worked from home at Luke’s and kept me company most days. We got the chance to get to know one another again and day after day I fell in love with Peyton all over again.
• I forgot there was a part of him that was tender and caring, but he went out of his way to show me. We slept on the couch with him cradling me in his arms every night. Time passed and before I knew it the holidays had arrived. On Thanksgiving morning Peyton woke me up with a full-spread breakfast and helped me pick an outfit to wear to dinner at the bar. Harris and Lemon would be there, and it would be the first time we had seen them since Harris hadLuke wouldn't answer my texts or calls for some reason so I relied on Lemon to keep me connected to the Crows.
• Peyton helped me choose a burnt orange t-shirt with a deep vee neckline and a pair of tight-fitting jeans for me to wear to dinner and the two of us got ready to leave. As I was sliding on my shoes Peyton stepped behind me. I could feel his warmth through my clothes and the weeks of being close without doing anything had begun to take their toll on me. I pictured Peyton grabbing me, pulling me to him, and kissing the life out of me. Instead, his arms came around my head and he slid a silver chain around my neck.
