Chapter 77 Book 2: Twenty Five Pt-1

  • The death of Margaret Lockwood was the news that greeted everyone the next day, no one knew how the news came out but Lillian was suspecting it must be one of the nurses that was on shift last night for the caption of the news was heartbreaking. ‘Finally, indeed, there is no peace for the wicked.’ Lillian had been shocked when Philip showed her the news but she wasn’t in the mood for that for now, she was more worried about the man in her bedroom that had not had a single sleep throughout the night and neither did she.
  • She carried the tray with hot coffee and it gave her a déjà vu, the times when she had to stay up in the night to wait for others to fall asleep so that she could take hot coffee to him and also steal glances and also kisses. She shook her head to shake off the thoughts, now is not the time for reminiscing. She left the kitchen and went straight to her room, Shana was standing near the door and staring at the man who had been sitting on the bed with his hands on his head, the very same position he had been on since she woke up and she was worried about him. She looked at Lillian and sighed, her eyes brimming with tears.
  • Lillian placed the tray on the cabinet and turned to her, she wiped away her tears and urged her to leave the room. Shana looked at her father once again before leaving the room. Lillian turned to the man and sighed, placing her hand on his head, she ran her fingers through his hair softly, “Shane, don’t be like this. You are hurting Shana.”
