Chapter 74 Book 2: Twenty Four Pt-1

  • Lillian stayed in her house all through the day, the internet was still in an uproar and it would remain so for a few more days. She stood up from the couch and walked to the glass wall, it was a beautiful sunset and for some reason, she felt that her heart was releasing its weight little by little and slowly she was becoming lighter. She knew the reason though, deep in her heart she knew she has won. She got back her man, saved her child, reunited her man with his long lost father. She could feel that soon, she won’t have a reason for wearing black every single day. Soon she could be able to try on bright colors once more, her heart wasn’t overshadowed by darkness anymore. She could say that she was in daytime.
  • A smile graced her lips and she closed her eyes, her mother’s face appeared in her mind and for the first time since her death, Lillian felt contented. In her heart she said to the beautiful woman, ‘look mother, I did it, I took my revenge and I reclaimed all that should be mine. I have gotten justice for your death, my heart feels so light now.’
  • Opening her eyes, she let out a deep breath, watching the sunset, images splinted in her mind, how her life used to be, how she and her mother depended on one woman for survival. How she never in her life thought that she could be the woman she is today, how it never occurred to her that someday, she could be her own master, her own boss. She heaved a deep sigh again and turned from the glass wall, she saw Shana standing at the foot of the stairs and watching her, she smiled and stretched out her hands to her. The little one ran into her arms and hugged her tightly.
