Chapter 43

• Saturday morning was sunny. I spent the entire morning helping my grandmother fill mini crostatas with the jams my aunt had prepared throughout the week. After lunch, I took a taxi to deliver the order to the party venue.
• "Hey! Over here!" Annie waved at me as soon as she saw me arriving. The taxi passed by the alpha's house and stopped in front of a wall at the neighboring estate. Annie opened a large, white-painted iron gate that led onto the property, and the taxi drove in.
• I was surprised by the number of flowers arranged in beds along the pathway. The taxi stopped in front of a glass-walled building covered in vines climbing all the way to the roof. Annie quickly caught up to me and helped unload the order.
