- My eyelids felt unbearably heavy, begging for sleep, but I couldn’t afford to give in. Meanwhile, my phone battery had already died, and if William didn’t show up, I wouldn’t be able to call for help anymore. Had I made the right choice by calling him?
- I dragged myself forward a few inches, forcing the wound to throb with pain again. Pain was the only thing keeping me awake. The wind had begun to turn cold, a sign that afternoon would soon give way to another dark, freezing night.
- Just as my eyes started to close again, I heard footsteps approaching at high speed. Before I could react, a massive wolf with reddish-brown fur appeared before me.
