• Without caring that I’d shred my clothes, I shifted into wolf form and walked around a bit to shake off the drowsiness. William quickly shifted too and urged me to go ahead. I started running, and he stayed behind me. My mind was gradually clearing up, allowing me to pick up the pace. As soon as I got home, William stepped back a little so I could shift back to human and go inside. The first thing I did was grab a robe to cover myself.
• William’s scent was strong, and I heard him come in. I walked out of the bedroom and saw him sitting on the couch in the living room. It looked like he was waiting for me.
• “What do you want from me? Why did you follow me?” I asked softly.
