Chapter 57 Mia

  • After taking a light sip of my drink, we all headed to the dance floor. I had no intention of dancing, but Tracy and the others forced me along. Deciding to use my time wisely, I let my eyes wander over the crowd as people shook their hips and swayed to the music. My focus was on their hands, scanning for tattoos. If I could spot even one more person with that tattoo, it would help cement the image in my mind. I needed to engrave it into my memory—every curve, every line. It was my key to finding the ones who killed me.
  • Thirty minutes passed, and I was already exhausted. Searching for the tattoo in a sea of moving bodies had drained my energy far more than the half-hearted attempts to mimic their dancing. I had every intention of sitting down.
  • “Trace, I’ll go over there and relax for a while,” I shouted over the thumping music to Tracy, who was the closest to me.
