Chapter 50 Mia

  • Vibez Campsite was massive. The drive took about an additional 15 minutes, including the time we spent navigating through traffic just to reach where the main event was set up. Along the way, we passed countless people already living their best lives, dancing like no one was watching, or making out near the trees, completely unaware of the beautiful, innocent nature around them. What caught my attention even more, though, were the bouncers. Some groups of people were followed by not just one or two but four, sometimes even ten bouncers wherever they went. It reminded me of how Hannah was always under the protection of guards, and it left me wondering why security seemed so intense here.
  • “Do people often attend the freshman party with guards?” I asked, my gaze still fixed on the window. We were almost there, but now we had to find parking, which proved to be no small task given the huge turnout for the party. Thankfully, the organizers were on top of it. They tagged every single car and allocated parking spaces, making the process surprisingly smooth.
  • “Not really,” Candice replied, her voice casual as she scrolled through her phone. “It depends on your identity. If you're from some big-shot family, then yeah, you’ll probably have a few guards or bouncers walking around with you. Some are privately hired, and others are offered by the academy.”
