Chapter 56 Mia
- We stood in awkward silence, watching the crowd dance their lives away. Tracy and Hannah were still nowhere in sight. Honestly, how long could it take to grab drinks and come back? The unyielding awkwardness between Josh and me was unbearable. I didn’t think I could take it any longer.
- “Do you wanna dance?” Josh asked, breaking the silence. His tone was tentative, probably an effort to dissolve the growing tension. He must have felt the pressure too.
- I let out a light laugh. “I can’t dance to save my life,” I said, half-joking but entirely truthful. Dancing and I mixed about as well as oil and water—throw in some mismatched colors like pink and black, and the result was a definite no-no.
