Chapter 9 He Is Engaged
- Scott has a fiancé? Sophie stood there in astonishment.
- This wasn't supposed to hurt but for some reason, it did. Especially when she remembered what transpired between them at the club the other night…
- “Maria!!” Russuo's thundering voice snapped Sophie out of her thoughts.
- Sophie lowered her head as she looked around and realized she had messed up the living room with shatters of glass and water.
- Maria was soon seen walking briskly towards the living room, “Yes sir?”
- Sophie bent down and began to pick the glasses, putting the on the tray, “Um.. I'm.. I'm so.. sorry sir. I didn't realize it fell from my hands.”
- “You better be quiet!” Russuo snapped at Sophie, causing her to shiver slightly.
- Russuo's gaze moved from Sophie to Maria, “And you. Let this be the last time I see this girl carrying out any duties around the house. She's clumsy and it's irritating. If I see her working around the house, you'll be relieved of your duties. Is that clear?!”
- Maria nodded vigorously, “Yes sir. I'm sorry sir.”
- “Sorry for yourself!” Russuo retorted.
- Maria soon left and arrived with a mop to clean up after Sophie.
- Sophie, on the other hand, was done picking up the shattered glass.
- She walked towards the kitchen and for a moment, it felt like the shattered glass was her heart.
- Sophie bit her lips nervously, “I mean, it was just a kiss. What was I expecting?” She mumbled to herself as she tried to accept reality.
- Sophie shrugged carelessly, “After all, he didn't even know it was me. If he did know, he'd have probably been rude.”
- Sophie rounded the cabinet, stopping in front of the dust bin.
- I'll just have to keep my distance from him. Even at the club. Sophie nodded in agreement to her thoughts.
- Back in the living room, Russuo was being pacified by Scott.
- “Dad, calm down. Don't stay mad over some shattered glass.”
- “Yes uncle, please don't be annoyed anymore.” Isabella added.
- Russuo grumbled silently as he drummed his fingers on the couch.
- Scott and Isabella waited for him to say something, “Alright. It's fine. I'm not annoyed anymore.” Russuo declared.
- Isabella smiled, “Thank you uncle.”
- Russuo smiled back at Isabella while patting her on the head.
- Scott sat by his father's right and Isabella on the left.
- “Now that you're not mad, I can finally talk to you about I and Scott's marriage.” Isabella started with a sheepish smile.
- Hearing that, Scott glared icily at Isabella. His eyes looked like they were conveying a message.
- Something like, Why are you bringing up this topic?
- “Seems it's your favorite topic.” Russuo grinned.
- “Yes, I'm so excited about it and I can't wait to get married.” Isabella declared while returning Scott's glare with a smile.

- “Sophie, the book is here. Let's go.” Amanda called from the hallway.
- “Phew!” Sophie sighed in relief as she walked out of the classroom.
- The two walked side by side as they headed home after calling it a day at school.
- Amanda started, “Today's class was fun. Did you notice Jeremy's hair?”
- Sophie wore her bag on her right shoulder, supporting it with her right hand.
- Sophie chuckled, “Yeah, whoever advised him to get such a haircut should be arrested.”
- Amanda giggled, “I know right? He also wouldn't stop flaunting it around. He's not going to be pulling any girls with that bob looking head.”
- Sophie burst into laughter, “Oh my God! That was harsh.”
- Amanda joined in on the laughter, “But I'm speaking the truth. That reminds me, did you see…”
- “Hey princess.” Larry's voice interrupted their laughing session. As they came out of the school building.
- Amanda stopped laughing the moment she saw Larry in front of them.
- “Hi, prince.” She replied while wiggling her lashes.
- Larry smirked naughtily as he moved his gaze to Sophie, ignoring Amanda completely.
- Larry smiled at Sophie, “I guess I came at the right time.”
- Sophie mouthed a half smile, “Yeah, you did.”
- Amanda watched the two in astonishment.
- How does Sophie know this extremely gorgeous man?
- And why is he coming to pick her from school?
- He looks so wealthy, is he her boyfriend?
- Amanda snapped herself out of her thoughts as she couldn't make sense of anything.
- Larry extended his hand towards Sophie's shoulder in a fit to take off her school bag, “I'll take that.”
- He's even being a gentleman! Amanda gasped softly.
- Amanda moved even closer to Sophie, giving her the body language that asked Sophie to introduce her.
- Sophie knew how much Amanda admired men, handsome men to be precise so she did the needful.
- “Larry, meet Amanda, my best friend.” Sophie introduced Amanda.
- Larry extended his hand towards Amanda for a handshake, “Hi. Nice to meet you.”
- Omg, he wants to shake me! Calm down, Amanda, maintain composure.
- Amanda shook hands with Larry while staring at him in so much admiration.
- “I'm..Amanda.” She said softly.
- After hearing her name, Larry withdrew his hand.
- Larry stretched his hand towards Sophie, “We should get going.”
- Amanda was low-key pissed that Larry was paying little to no attention to her.
- “Bye Amanda, I'll see you tomorrow.” Sophie bade Amanda goodbye.
- Amanda simply waved back, feigning a smile as she watched the duo walk out, hand in hand.
- “Till we meet again, Prince.” Amanda sighed in disappointment as she headed out the hallway.

- Sophie put on her mask and was ready to go perform.
- As she stepped on stage, she prayed inside that Scott wouldn't be around today.
- She didn't want to see him. Especially after finding our that he was engaged.
- “She's finally here.” Scott muttered to himself as he took another sip of his wine.
- With Sophie's hands on the pole, she swayed left and right, her hips busting sexy moves and in rhythm with the music.
- Scott's eyes never left Sophie’s body.
- Sophie didn't want to see Scott but her eyes still looked through the room and then she saw him…
- Why's he still coming to a club if he's engaged? Sophie asked herself and realized how stupid the question sounded.
- “Just ignore him.” She muttered to herself as she danced with the pole.
- “Waiter.”
- Scott didn't have to declare his intentions as the waiter already followed his line of vision.
- “I'll bring her to you right away.” And with that, the waiter left for the stage.
- The waiter called Sophie off stage, “My boss calls for you.”
- Sophie's heart raced, “The same man from the other night?”
- The waiter nodded.
- “I'm not going.” Sophie announced.
- “Please come, he has a lot of money.” The waiter persuaded.
- But Sophie wasn't having it, “Go tell your boss I said I don't want his money.” And with that, Sophie made her way back to the stage.
- The waiter went back to Scott, afraid to deliver the news.
- Scott frowned, “Why's she not here with you?”
- “Sir…she…” The waiter hesitated.
- “Speak up.” Scott ordered.
- “She refused to come.”
- Scott was surprised, “Why?”
- “I don't know sir. She just said she's not coming. I even tried to persuade her but she refused.”
- Scott looked at the stage, “I see.”
- Scott smirked, “If she won't come to me, then I'll go to her.”
