Chapter 27 A Dangerous Calm

• Sophie made her way down the stairs for breakfast. It was a bright Saturday morning, and she welcomed the two days to quiet to clear her head from the whirlwind of Mandy and the unsettling conversation with Jane.
• Thinking about it. The ideal of having enemies had never crossed her mind until Jane mentioned it, and though Jane sounded uncertain, she didn’t seem to be lying either. The thought unsettled her.
• Reaching the storeroom, Sophie grabbed the cleaning supplies she needed and headed to the living room. Her eyes landed on Larry and his father, deep in a conversation. For the first time Larry looked serious, a rare sight.
