Chapter 23 Diving Into Feelings

• Seeing Max at school today was a constant reminder of seeing him at the club. He had entered like he had a purpose, and by the time she finished performing, he was probably long gone. Sophie scanned the crowd, hoping to catch a glimpse of him, but he was nowhere to be found.
• As she approached the mansion, she noticed a small group of people gathered at the entrance, an unusual sight that sent a jolt of anxiety through her. But as she drew closer she recognized her mother in the circle. She rushed ahead to asssimilate the situation.
• “Ma’am, you have just three months left and no extra time as grace period. That’s the best we can do,” a tall man in sharp suit said, his tone firm.
