Chapter 5 First Day At The Club

  • Amanda stared at Sophie for a while, unsure of how to react to what she just heard.
  • Sophie moved her head from side to side in a fit to examine Amanda,
  • “Amanda..you okay?”
  • Amanda was still staring.
  • Sophie snapped her fingers in front of her, that jerked Amanda back to reality.
  • “Amanda, what happened?”
  • Amanda shook her head slightly, “Oh nothing. Thought I just heard you saying something about being a stripper but of course that can't be possible, I mean you would never…right?”
  • Sophie's silence said a lot.
  • Amanda gasped, “Oh my God! Are you serious?”
  • Amanda moved closer to Sophie, “You're a stripper?”
  • Sophie lowered her head in embarrassment, “I told you not to judge me.”
  • “Of course not. I would never judge you. I'm just…really surprised.” Amanda said.
  • Sophie bit her lips nervously, “I know right? I never thought I'd take it but the other day when I passed the second street home, I saw a poster on the wall and it said some club needed a stripper and that she'd be paid thirty thousand dollars, I just couldn't ignore that. I'm sorry if i…”
  • Amanda placed a finger on Sophie's lips to stop her from talking, “Shush, you don't have to apologize. I understand the situation very well and I support you.”
  • Sophie wrapped her arms around Amanda, “What would I do without you? Thank you so much.” Sophie appreciated it while trying to fight back the tears.
  • Amanda patted her back softly, “I don't understand why you're thanking me because I mean we're best friends. You better not be crying” Amanda warned and released herself from the hug to see Sophie's face.
  • Sophie couldn't help but giggle with her teary eyes, “Well, I wasn't”
  • Amanda smirked, “Yeah right, if I hadn't pulled you away from my shoulders, you'd have probably cried a river.”
  • Sophie chuckled, “I can't even lie, I would have. I've gotten so used to crying on your shoulders.”
  • Amanda stifled a laugh, “Yeah, I'm aware.”
  • Sophie took Amanda's hand and they started walking together.
  • Sophie swung Amanda's hand back and forth as they walked, “Promise you won't tell anyone about this?”
  • Amanda's brows contorted, “I would never Sophie. I can't believe you said that.”
  • “Don't be mad, I just..” Sophie stopped herself as she realized explaining would only make Amanda mad.
  • “Fine, I'm sorry Amie.” Sophie apologized.
  • “Alright.” Amanda hummed a reply.
  • “You’re not mad anymore right?” Sophie asked just to be sure.
  • “Want to keep walking or not?”
  • That was all Sophie needed to continue walking hand in hand with Amanda.
  • *****
  • “So in the previous class, I told you something about amphibians being cold blooded, which means their temperature varies with that of their surroundings. So what term did I use in place of cold blooded?” Mr Donald asked the class while looking through the room for a raised hand.
  • Mr Donald noticed Sophie was dozing off in his class, “Sophie.”
  • Sophie snapped out of her sleep and immediately heard her name, “Yes Mr Donald?” She rose up with drowsy eyes.
  • Mr Donald frowned, “What was the last thing I said?”
  • “Uhh..Sophie.”
  • The classroom broke out in chortles.
  • The desire to sleep left Sophie the moment she realized she was being made jest of.
  • Mr Donald shook his head in disappointment, “What was the last thing I said with regards to this topic?”
  • The classroom became silent as they awaited Sophie's reply.
  • Sophie lowered her head in shame, “I don't know.”
  • “As expected. I've been noticing you for a while, you're either sleeping or not paying attention in class. What's your problem?” Mr Donald threatened.
  • ******
  • Scott came out of his office, headed for the main exit.
  • The building fell into deep silence as Scott walked, no worker dared to breathe too loud. The only sounds that were heard were the clicking of his heels against the floor.
  • Scott commanded the same authority and respect as his father both at home and at work.
  • The moment Scott appeared in the driveway, a car drove by, stopping in front of Scott.
  • The driver saw Scott get in, “Sir, where....”
  • “Munte’s club, start driving.” Scott ordered in a sharp tone.
  • The driver's mouth snapped shut as he started the ignition.
  • All through the drive, Scott's attention never left his phone, he kept scrolling through it.
  • The driver soon stopped in front of a bubbling building.
  • Despite the fact that it was a club, it looked really fancy.
  • The colorful lights atop the building that spelled out ‘Munte’s club’ added a sense of liveliness.
  • The building was blasting with loud music but it was barely heard from outside.
  • “Get out of the car. I'll drive myself home.” Scott ordered.
  • The driver did exactly what he was told,he stepped out.
  • Still in his driver's uniform, he searched for a taxi.
  • Scott put on his dark shades the moment he stepped out of the car.
  • The club was his favorite place to ease himself of whatever stress he was feeling.
  • Scott usually sat in front of the podium in the club so it was always reserved.
  • It gave him a better view of the strippers….
  • As soon as Scott took a seat, a waiter appeared immediately.
  • “Sir, what will you be having?”
  • Scott took off his shades, placing them in front of the table, “The usual.”
  • The waiter nodded and left.
  • The strippers started getting on stage.
  • “Perfect timing.” Scott muttered to himself.
  • The waiter arrived with a bottle of Vodka and a glass on a tray.
  • The waiter poured Scott a glass before leaving.
  • The strippers soon started dancing around the poll as usual.
  • Sophie was the lead dancer.
  • As Scott took sips from his glass, he focused his eyes on the strippers, especially the one in the middle…
  • Her body’s so attractive, he thought to himself.
  • Realizing what he had just said, he shook his head.
  • “Scott, no. She's a stripper.” He mumbled to himself to gain control over his thoughts.
  • Scott sighed to himself, even though he cautioned his thoughts, he couldn't take his mind off the stripper.
  • Scott took another sip of his wine while fixing his eyes on the stripper in the middle.
  • Sophie’s red lingerie had fringes by the hip so every time she swayed up and down the pole, it was quite a sight for Scott's eyes.
  • She always has a way of driving me crazy, Scott wondered.
  • Sophie bent down while trying to dance and through her mask, she spotted a familiar face in front of the crowd.
  • She paused for a minute, isn't that Scott?
  • She took a closer look and gasped. She turned around, she was still dancing but without energy like before.
  • Does he recognize me?
  • Why's he staring at me like that?
  • No, he couldn't possibly recognize me, I'm wearing a mask.
  • After calming herself down, she continued dancing.
  • Scott was ashamedly aroused by this particular stripper in the middle.
  • He tried his best not to give in to his instincts but they got the better of him.
  • “Waiter.” The waiter moved closer.
  • “I want her.” Scott pointed towards the stripper in the middle.
  • “Bring her to my room,” He ordered.
