- The hallway was dimly lit, the flickering torches casting long shadows on the cold stone walls. My footsteps echoed softly as I walked, my arms folded tightly against my chest, trying to shake off the growing unease inside me. The air felt heavy, as if the walls themselves were pressing in, whispering secrets I wasn’t meant to hear.
