Chapter 48
- Loveth’s POV
- Maxwell’s determined pace was relentless, and I struggled to keep up, his grip firm on my wrist as we navigated the dense forest. His tension was palpable—every rustle of leaves or snap of a twig made him flinch. He likely thought he hid it well, but I noticed. Guilt gnawed at me. I had dragged him into this mess, and now he was a fugitive, a traitor to his alpha, all because of me. Things could be really bad for him if he was found. But I didn’t plan to get caught so I continued running through the forest with him.
- I pushed forward, the memory of my last escape attempt fresh in my mind.
