Chapter 111
- KORVUS'S POV
- I returned to the palace, the weight of Kelilah’s unconscious body cradled in my arms. Her head lolled against my chest, her skin deathly pale beneath the moonlight. My footsteps echoed in the marble corridors, yet I felt nothing—no rage, no sorrow—just a hollow shell walking through a palace that suddenly felt like a tomb.
- I placed her gently on my bed, brushing strands of hair from her bruised face. My eyes traced the fading scars along her jawline, and I felt something stir inside me—an urge to weep, to scream, to break down beside her. But no tears came. I had lost the ability to feel long ago. Or maybe... I had buried it too deep.
