Chapter 40 Melody Of My Life

  • The very next morning, I sneaked out of the house and hopped into Roselyn's limo. I had been through a couple of secret missions throughout my life; yet, this one was, by far, the most stirring. My heart was pounding so hard; I bet Roselyn could feel it too.
  • She had booked a chapel in the state of Nevada, and an old friend from college would be our officiant. No one else would be allowed to attend the ceremony, only our witnesses and Roselyn's civil lawyer. I found myself lost in thought as I adjusted myself in the leather seats. The morning sun shone through the windows, illuminating the wedding attire that now rested on my lap. I carefully untied the delicate ribbon securing the bag and peered inside. My breath caught in my throat as I took in the contents. There were two simple yet exquisite white dresses, their fabric shimmering softly. I also found two handcrafted veils, the perfect embroidery a testament to their quality. And finally, a pair of rings, their bands gleaming with a subtle elegance.
