  • “Cancun? Are you serious?” Lynn’s brown eyes sparked with surprise and disbelief. “And are you really planning on going? What if it’s another trap? Honestly, being locked up or kidnapped in Mexico doesn’t sound so fetch”
  • She was rightfully worried, considering my history with Roselyn. I sat on the other side of her bed, enjoying the homemade cookies her mother usually baked during our sleepovers. I knew I couldn't tell her the truth just yet. I was too embarrassed, and I lacked the courage to admit my initial plan had failed miserably. I had to find another explanation, something that would put her mind at ease.
  • "Girl, you're exaggerating," I tried to insist. "My plan has worked so far; Roselyn genuinely believes we are friends now. That's why we have been hanging out a lot." I explained, though my excuse made Lynn particularly annoyed.
