Chapter 26 Back To The Woods
- As we drove towards the Hunt mansion, the weight of the evening's events and the impending conversation with Roselyn settled on me. I knew I had to be cautious. My intuition screamed at me to be wary, but I also felt a pull towards her, an old desire to protect her and help unravel the mysteries that seemed to follow us.
- Arriving at the front, I was greeted by the familiar sight of the grand façade, bathed in the soft glow of the moon. The place held so many memories, both good and bad. I steeled myself, preparing myself for whatever Roselyn was about to show me. As we stepped inside, the past seemed to come alive, and for a moment, I felt like we were back in those days, when I would sit by Mr. Hunt's bed and read to him. Roselyn's hand on my arm snapped me back to the present. Her touch was gentle, but it carried an unspoken urgency.
