Chapter 28 Subtle Battles
- The next day, I resumed my work at the office. I would be attending my first official meeting with the team, and since I was the new kid on the block, I knew I had to do my best to showcase my potential.
- I reached my desk on time. The air felt heavy, thick with the scent of stale coffee and paper. I tried to push the lingering memory of last night's encounter with Roselyn to the back of my mind, focusing on the spreadsheet in front of me. Mr. Nucci, his face etched with the confidence of a man who'd spent his life navigating corporate battles, sat at the head of the table. His team, a collection of polished professionals, occupied the remaining seats.
