Chapter 24 The Gala

• The rest of the day at the office was a blur. I tried to focus on my tasks, but my mind kept drifting back to Roselyn's invitation. I’d never been to a gala before, let alone one hosted by a company like this. The thought of all those powerful people, dressed to the nines, swirling around in a luxurious ballroom, sent an unpleasant thrill through me. And then there was Roselyn, the woman who had broken my heart last year, asking me to be part of her personal team.
• My phone buzzed. It was a text from Lynn: “How was your first day? Spill the tea!”
• I smiled, typing back a quick response. I couldn't wait to tell her all about it, especially about Roselyn. I knew she was going to freak out, and I couldn't wait to see her reaction.
