Chapter 32 Riviera Girls

  • I had never taken an overseas flight in my life. The experience was fascinating itself, thought a bit draining, considering the airports’ busy corridors and overcrowded lounges. However, the countless stops where worth it, and I knew it from the very first moment I laid eyes on the French Riviera.
  • Roselyn’s aunt lived in the glamorous port of Cannes. Her family owned a house on a quiet street, right next to a cliff and a cozy bakery. As soon as we arrived, the vibrant blues of the Mediterranean Sea stretched out before me, a stark contrast to the quaint facades. I felt a sense of tranquility as I gazed upon the shimmering waters, with the gentle breeze carrying the scent of the sea and its wonders. The entire city exuded an air of history and sophistication. The bustling streets, lined with palm trees and elegant boutiques, led down to the vibrant marina, where luxurious yachts bobbed gently in the harbor. Roselyn's aunt, a warm and gracious woman, made sure to pick us up from the airport and show us around. She also welcomed me into their home with open arms.
  • Her hospitality was heartwarming. Her cook prepared a delicious meal for us, with fresh seafood caught that very day, and we dined al fresco in their charming garden, overlooking the coastline. Roselyn made sure to make things even more special. As soon as the sun set, she asked me to join her for a walk on the beach. She put on a hat and a silk sarong and grabbed my hand on the balcony. I knew exactly what she had in mind, and though a part of my wished I could make it stop, my will to resist faltered under her touch.
