Chapter 14 A Rose, A Thorn

  • Roselyn ignored me for the rest of the day. She locked herself in the master bedroom, left my bags in the corridor, and refused to talk to me. I tried to text her, but she had blocked me too. Honestly, I was so scared of making things worse that I decided to keep my distance, trying to come up with a plan to make everything right between us.
  • The next day, we were supposed to leave Cancun and take another private jet. However, one of Roselyn’s assistants reached out to me in the morning and sent me the tickets to a commercial flight, so I had to head to the city airport on my own. I knew Roselyn was doing that to punish me, but, sincerely, it came as a relief. I simply couldn't withstand the tension and the embarrassment of being alone with her on the same plane. Plus, flying private was terrible for the environment.
  • I cried on my way home. I felt terrible about the situation, and I couldn't help but wonder who was trying to sabotage our relationship. It was clear that someone didn't want us to be friends, and I was determined to get to the bottom of it and fix things with Roselyn. It was my turn to mend the hurt I had caused her. But, for now, I could only hope that time and space would allow her to forgive me and that we could uncover the actual source of our troubles, including the mysterious letter she had received before.
