I pull up to the gate and stop. I look at the house for several seconds before pulling away again. I park a couple of feet away and put my face in my hands. What am I doing here? I gave her space to think, but so far I have driven by here five times since speaking to Gia yesterday. She was so disappointed and rightfully so, but I have to do this for Fenice’s sake. After seeing her with him, for a second it crossed my mind she could cheat, but deep down I knew the truth. I know she wouldn’t cheat on me, but seeing them together, I can’t help realizing how right they look together. How much she looks happy being around him. Someone who is her age. Someone she can grow old with. Someone who can keep up with her, not a man whose back gets injured during sex.
