• “I love you.” Time feels as if it’s stopped with only those three words from her lips. I never knew how much I needed to hear her say it until she did, and now all I want is for her to repeat it. She loves me; she loves me. She’s finally told me that she loves me. I slip my tongue out of her slowly and lift my head to meet those brown eyes. Eyes that use to empty before but are filled with warmth as she smiles at me.
• “Do you love me?” I ask, almost like a whisper, afraid to ask any louder because she may deny it. She bites her lips and averts her eyes.
