• “Caputo.” Governor Brooks calls, but I ignore him and head straight for the door. Just then, the door swings open, and standing there is Theodore French.
• I step back and pull Fenice close to me as the snake smiles. I clench my fist. I have seen him once at a hotel two months ago, but he kept his distance then.
