Chapter 63 Just Ask Ruby
- Dominic’s POV
- I gripped the steering wheel so hard my fingers hurt, knuckles bone-white against the leather. The hum of the car engine was the only sound breaking the heavy silence, but my mind was far from quiet. My mind was a whirlwind of questions, anger simmering just below the surface. Ruby’s secrets were piling up, one after the other, and now my own mother was involved? I didn’t know what to think anymore. The woman who’d raised me, the one person I should be able to trust unconditionally, had suddenly become part of the mess I was trying to unravel.
- Last night, when Ruby had stormed out, I thought she was just blowing off steam. But then Zeus called, telling me she’d met with my mother. My mother, of all people. That didn’t sit right with me. I knew Ruby had been hiding something, something big, and now it seemed my mother was caught up in it too.
