Chapter 38 Finding Home
- Ruby's POV
- As Dominic held my face, his thumbs gently wiping away my tears, I felt a warmth spreading through me—a sensation I hadn’t felt in so long. The intensity of his gaze made my heart race, and for a moment, I allowed myself to get lost in those dark, soulful eyes. I could see his sincerity, his pain, and his promise to stand by me no matter what. It was a connection I didn’t think we could have. But here he was, holding me as if I was the most precious thing in the world.
- I felt a lump form in my throat, and I had to look away, the emotions becoming too overwhelming. “Uhmm…” he cleared his throat awkwardly, and I could sense the tension breaking as he glanced at the car. “I think we should head back.”
