Chapter 7 Danger

  • "Don't tell Uncle Seven about this. I'll be home right after dinner," Yan Anmo blushed a little. Her heart felt slightly strange when she mentioned Uncle Seven in front of Su Ci.
  • Yan Anmo was precious to Xi Zhiheng, so no one dared to disobey her. Thus, the driver glanced at her worriedly, but left without a choice.
  • However, the weather was not good. As soon as the car left, Yan Anmo noticed it was about to rain. She felt a little scared, but she had already agreed to eat with Su Ci, so she endured her fear and followed him.
  • The rain fell without warning. Su Ci didn't expect it to rain either. His first reaction was to grab onto Yan Anmo's wrist and run toward the security booth.
  • Yan Anmo glanced at her wrist and her mind went blank as she followed.
  • Suddenly, Su Ci removed his uniform and held it above Yan Anmo's head to block the rain. While he got wet, he continued to smile like he was unaffected. It was like everything was just a game.
  • Yan Anmo was stunned. Her heart began to thump as she instinctively tried to avoid his eyes.
  • The two of them boarded a taxi. It was getting late and the estimated time from the school to the downtown was quite long. This was Yan Anmo's first outing with a relatively unfamiliar male. As the sky darkened and the rain fell heavier, she began to regret her decision.
  • "Yan Anmo, that guy mentioned an Uncle Seven. Who is he?" This was Su Ci's first attempt at pursuing a good girl like this. He was inexperienced so he could only do his best to start a conversation with her.
  • "Uncle Seven is Uncle Seven," Yan Anmo didn't like it when others talked about Xi Zhiheng.
  • Su Ci accepted this answer, but he was not offended, instead, he laughed.
  • He always saw Yan Anmo as a good student in the eyes of the teachers and just a neighbors child in the eyes of his parents, but after coming in contact with her these few days, he realized her personality wasn't as simple as he thought.
  • "Su Ci, is this the way to the downtown?"
  • "Why does it feel like we are getting farther away?" Yan Anmo stared out the window, afraid of the unknown, like a child that had left her home for the first time.
  • Su Ci looked around and realized something wasn't right.
  • "Sir, are you heading to the downtown?"
  • "Are you going the wrong way?"
  • The driver did not respond. Instead, he increased his speed.
  • That was when Su Ci realized they were indeed going the wrong way and they were heading farther and farther into the suburbs.
  • "Damn it!"
  • "How dare you try to have your way with me!" Su Ci was immediately angered. It wasn't easy for him to invite Yan Anmo to dinner, yet this damn taxi driver was ruining it for him!
  • "Stop the car!" Su Ci stretched out his arm wrapped it tightly around the driver's neck. "How dare you try to adbuct me?"
  • "Haven't you checked who I am?"
  • The driver's body shook as he was strangled. Unable to breathe, his face turned red and the steering wheel turned as he struggled.
  • Yan Anmo had never witnessed a scene like this before. After all, Xi Zhiheng had always protected her well and she never went out on her own. So, as she looked at the scene in front of her in fear, her head began to buzz!
  • The car suddenly stopped and Yan Anmo's head hit against the front seat. She immediately snapped out of her daze and secretly pulled out her phone to call Xi Zhiheng. As she stared at the phone screen and waited for the call to connect, she trembled nervously and broke out into a cold sweat.
  • Suddenly, a group of middle-aged men gathered around the car. When they saw Yan Anmo through the car window, their eyes lit up, their mouths opened to reveal evil smiles, and they whispered something that she couldn't hear.
  • Yan Anmo placed her phone in her pocket and clasped onto it tightly as she looked around cautiously.
  • "Don't be afraid, I'll protect you!" Su Ci didn't expect so many people to appear, but he was good at fighting and he wasn't afraid of numbers. He was the one that brought Yan Anmo out. No matter what, he was not letting her get hurt.
  • The car door was opened. Unable to resist against so many people, a pair of dirty hands stretched in and pulled Yan Anmo out. She stumbled and fell on the ground.
  • The dirty muddy rainwater splashed against her body!
  • "Yan Anmo!" When Su Ci saw the situation, he rushed out like crazy and went to help Yan Anmo up. But, he was knocked to the ground by the group of men. Su Ci could fight, but there were too many of them and they were holding poles in their hands. No matter how hard Su Ci tried, he still ended up on the floor with one hit. All he could do was watch them take Yan Anmo away while he couldn't do a thing.
  • Yan Anmo was dragged into a nearby factory and thrown onto the muddy ground. She grit her teeth, clasped onto the phone in her pocket and did not make a sound.
  • She suddenly remembered how she witnessed her mother being tortured to death. She already understood back then, that if she wanted to survive, she had to rely on herself. No one ever stood up in the face of danger, they only cheered and encouraged them to be more cruel.
  • Su Ci was also dragged in and tied to a chair. Blood rolled down from his head and it pained Yan Anmo to see it.
  • Just as Yan Anmo saw Su Ci, someone tugged her hair hard and she instinctively let out a cry. The pain almost caused her to break into tears.
  • She knelt on the ground and felt a foot press against her waist, stopping her from moving.
