Chapter 12 Enduring Hits

  • "Auntie, sorry... It was me..." Yan Anmo almost cried in fear. Since Xi Zhiheng always kept her under his protection, she had never met such an intimidating elder. On top of that, she thought she had really harmed Su Ci, so her heart was overridden with sadness and guilt, "I hurt Su Ci..."
  • Initially, Mother Su was wondering why she disliked this girl. But, she understood now - this girl was the one that hurt Su Ci!
  • "How did you have the audacity to come here before I even came looking for you?"
  • Yan Anmo sobbed helplessly, "Auntie, let me see Su Ci..."
  • "How could you ask to see--"
  • "Lan Ying, Ci is awake." Father Su said as he approached. He looked at Yan Anmo profoundly, but did not say anything to her as he led Mother Su away.
  • "Uncle, can I see him?"
  • "Just a glance..." Yan Anmo said as she chased after the couple. Anyone that saw her big teary eyes, would feel their heart ache.
  • "Child, I don't think Ci wants to see you."
  • "But, you shouldn't blame yourself too much. This wasn't entirely your fault. Hurry and leave."
  • Father Su's voice was soft, but his rejection was firm.
  • Yan Anmo's heart broke, spilling out a pool of blood. All she heard in her ears, were the words, "I don't think Ci wants to see you."
  • She simply watched as Father and Mother Su entered the hospital room and locked the door tightly, not giving her a single chance.
  • At that moment, her phone rang. It was Xi Zhiheng. But, she was angry and did not want to pick up.
  • "Yan Anmo?" a voice suddenly called out not too far away. The voice sounded familiar.
  • She looked back blankly and noticed Ding Shan's swollen face looking at her with hate.
  • "Why are you here?"
  • "Don't you think you've hurt Su Ci enough?" Ding Shan asked as she rushed over.
  • "Pa--!" A slap landed on Yan Anmo's face.
  • "This slap is for me!"
  • "Pa--!" Yan Anmo's other cheek also endured a slap.
  • "This slap is for Su Ci!" Ding Shan had disliked Yan Anmo for a long time. Now that she finally got the opportunity to vent her anger, how could she let it end with two slaps?
  • Yan Anmo was weak to begin with, plus she was sad and heartbroken, so these two slaps almost caused her to lose her footing and fall. Fortunately, she supported herself with the wall beside her.
  • Her long hair was disheveled and her head was low as she held her cheek gently without making a sound.
  • "I've already discussed things with Su Ci's parents: both of us will be transferring schools. Now that you've hurt Su Ci, don't expect him to like you anymore. He hates you!" Seeing that there was no response from Yan Anmo, Ding Shan was bored. She looked around, discovered a pair of crutches that were left behind by a patient and suddenly had an idea.
  • "Come here!" Ding Shan said as she held the crutches with one hand and tugged on Yan Anmo's hair with the other. She then dragged her over to a corner where the emergency exit was.
  • "Yan Anmo, do you remember how my face got swollen?" Ding Shan smirked as she glanced at the crutches.
  • "If you let me hit you obediently, I will call it even. What do you say?"
  • Yan Anmo's gaze was blank as she looked at the woman without responding to her.
  • Her Uncle Seven had told her that if someone bullied her, she should fight back without mercy. But, she was currently hesitating.
  • "Show me your face," Ding Shan thought Yan Anmo was quietly agreeing and this made her ecstatic. She picked up one of the crutches and lifted Yan Anmo's chin with it. Her messy hair spread to the sides, revealing her delicate face.
  • Ding Shan looked up, ready to hit the girl. But, just as she lifted one of the crutches to hit her...
  • Yan Anmo dodged and snatched the crutches out of Ding Shan's hands as she pounced at thin air.
  • "Ah--!" a pitiful cry broke the silence in the hospital corridor.
  • Ding Shan almost knelt on the floor in pain!
  • She furrowed her brows and gripped onto her stomach tightly. She was in so much pain that she couldn't move!
  • "You've always bullied me at school; I'm sure you know what you've done. Since I've never chased you up on it, what right do you have to hit me?" Yan Anmo's eyes were red. She no longer wanted to think. She simply wanted to go home.
  • Ding Shan's cries attracted the attention of onlookers.
  • "Shan?"
  • "What's wrong?" Mother Su came from nowhere and looked at Ding Shan with confusion as she sweated in pain. She then looked at Yan Anmo who was holding onto a set of crutches.
  • "Auntie Su, she...she didn't just hurt Su Ci, she also hit me..." Ding Shan pointed at Yan Anmo as Mother Su helped her up. She was filled with so much hatred, her voice began to tremble.
  • Yan Anmo watched people begin to surround her and look at her with disgust as they pointed at her. She had always lived under Xi Zhiheng's protection and she was still a child...so she had never experienced a scene like this. How could she handle it?
  • Faced with blame, Yan Anmo threw the crutches aside and ran away without looking back.
  • But, just as she left the doors of the hospital, she suddenly ran into someone without warning. As the impact was hard, she flew backwards and her bottom landed on the floor.
