Chapter 13 Protecting

  • "Anmo!"
  • "My little Anmo!" a familiar man's voice sounded above Yan Anmo's head with happiness and surprise.
  • Yan Anmo lifted her head and saw a man grinning at her. Next to him was a voluptuous woman.
  • This was Tang Nianrui, Xi Zhiheng's best friend, and next to him, was roughly his 100th girlfriend.
  • "Oh no, what's wrong with our Anmo's face?"
  • "Did someone hit you?" Tang Nianrui helped Yan Anmo up and looked at her carefully with worry. "Tsk tsk, Old Seven's going to lose his temper again..."
  • "Nianrui, I want to go home..." Yan Anmo said sincerely; she knew Tang Nianrui would never reject her.
  • "Sure, you can go home. But, I need to see who bullied our Anmo first and break their leg!" Tang Nianrui said as he dragged Yan Anmo into the hospital. No matter how much Yan Anmo didn't want to go in, it wasn't her decision to make.
  • "Hey, go get the abortion on your own. Tell the doctor to be gentle on my son. Remember--" Tang Nianrui wanted to say more to his girlfriend, but he quickly remembered Yan Anmo was there, so he stopped. With an awkward smile, he gestured his girlfriend to leave.
  • Ding Shan was still seated in the corridor from earlier and Mother Su was next to her feeling a little heartbroken. After all, this was the daughter-in-law that she had her eye on, how could she let her get bullied?
  • "Auntie Su, she actually dared to come back!" Ding Shan spotted Yan Anmo from a mile away and immediately felt angered. If Mother Su didn't hold onto her, she would have probably rushed up to Yan Anmo and started a fight.
  • Tang Nianrui held onto Yan Anmo's hand so she wouldn't be afraid.
  • "Are you the ones that hurt my child?" Tang Nianrui displayed his power as he scanned his eyes across Ding Shan. Oh, why was this brat so swollen?
  • Was it because of Yan Anmo?
  • Ding Shan did not have her parents with her, so when she saw an adult approaching, she felt a little guilty and hid behind Mother Su, too afraid to say a word.
  • "Are you her guardian?"
  • "Take a look for yourself. Look what your child did to this child as well as my son who's still lying inside the hospital room. It's all her fault!"
  • "You came right on time to provide an explanation!" Mother Su was triggered. She originally thought that the Su Family was famous and respected in the city so they shouldn't feel bothered by this clueless girl, but now that a thick-skinned guardian arrived, she was going to clarify things.
  • Tang Nianrui was a little shocked by the woman's stance. He scoffed and looked in disbelief at Yan Anmo who was hiding behind his back with her head down.
  • This child had always been mild-mannered and obedient. Who knew she had this in her?
  • Just as he was about to speak, he received a phone call from Xi Zhiheng asking him where he was.
  • "I am at The First Hospital."
  • On the other end of the phone, Xi Zhiheng was a little tired, "Have you seen Yan Anmo?"
  • "What a coincidence. I'm with our child right now and she's being taught a lesson. Our child is so pitiful, her crying eyes are breaking my heart--"
  • "Hello?"
  • "Hello?"
  • "Hello!" Before he finished speaking, the phone hung up.
  • Tang Nianrui sighed helplessly, but there was a sense of gloating in his tone, "You guys are done for."
  • He shrugged his shoulders, pretending to be innocent, "This isn't my fault. The child's Uncle Seven has a bad temper. As soon as he heard she was being bullied, he immediately decided to come over."
  • Mother Su's eyes almost popped out of their sockets; she was furious. "Who did you say was being bullied?"
  • "Who was being bullied?"
  • "Are you being unreasonable?"
  • "Because of her," Mother Su pointed to Yan Anmo, "my son broke his leg and is lying in a hospital bed after just coming out of surgery. Also, because of her, Shan was almost disfigured. She even grabbed something earlier and hit Shan with it. Everyone over here saw it!"
  • "It's bad enough that you don't know how to teach your child, don't set a bad example and confuse wrong from right!"
  • Tang Nianrui stepped forward, shielding Yan Anmo behind him.
  • "Firstly, our child has a gentle personality. She would never take the initiative to bully someone," Tang Nianrui paused for a moment, glanced at Ding Shan, and said threateningly, "unless they deliberately provoked her and made her anxious."
  • "Secondly, you said that your son is in hospital because of our child. That's completely unreasonable. I've already heard about the matter. It all happened because your son insisted on taking our child to dinner. Your son was the one that took the initiative, so why should our child take responsibility?"
  • "Thirdly, the problem you mentioned about teaching. May I ask how you taught a son that likes to invite girls out to dinner?"
  • Mother Su's face turned pale when she heard this. She suddenly went speechless, unsure of how to retaliate.
  • After Yan Anmo heard this, she grew even sadder. Su Ci was indeed hurt because he was trying to protect her. Moreover, her Uncle Seven obviously had the ability to save him, but he didn't. This made her feel extremely guilty.
  • "Nianrui, that's enough..." Yan Anmo tugged on Tang Nianrui's sleeve. Su Ci was already lying in a hospital bed. It was a little excessive for them to stand there arguing.
