Chapter 32
- Genna's POV
- I spent the entire day carrying hurt around like a stone in my chest. I smiled for Denise, played tea party, built a blanket fort, read six books, let her paint my nails bright pink, but every laugh felt forced.
- Every time I pictured Adriana on Leonardo’s lap, her hand inside his shirt, his silence when she sent me away, the stone grew heavier. I kept touching the scorpion pendant under my clothes, reminding myself who he really was, reminding myself what I still had to do, yet the jealousy would not leave.
