Chapter 29
- Genna's POV
- I left my room at five minutes to twelve and walked down the back stairs so no one would hear my bare feet on the marble. The house was quiet except for the wind pushing against the windows and Denise breathing softly behind her closed door. I still felt Leonardo’s mouth on mine from hours earlier and the way his hand had tightened on my waist when he thought I was asleep, so I needed air and I needed this meeting to be over fast.
- The terrace door stuck because of the earlier rain. I pulled it open and stepped outside. The garden smelled wet and thick. No moon tonight, just heavy clouds and the small red dot of a cigarette moving near the oleanders.
