• I was dumbfounded. Luna Amelia’s reaction to Charlotte was surprising, to say the least. I understand that she harbors a certain level of hostility against mistresses and bed warmers because, if I remember correctly, they made her life hell in the past. I opened my mouth to say something, but she raised her pointer finger to stop me and pulled me inside the elevator before I could say a word.
• Everything seemed to be in slow motion as I watched Charlotte stuck in place with the same expression, shocked and unmoving, and so was the omega. Luna waved her hand to the servant, indicating her dismissal before the metal door shut. I can only hope Charlotte doesn’t harm her after we’re gone.
