• Curiosity stirred in her chest. She sat back down on the cot, hugging the blanket around her, listening to the distant sound of the car door opening and shutting. A few moments later he returned, carrying a shopping bag in one hand.
• Nina blinked in surprise. “What’s that?”
• He set it on the cot in front of her, looking almost sheepish. “Picked it up two days ago. You need something better for a start.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Not sure if I got your size right, though.”
