  • The dockyard at night was a kingdom of shadows and steel. Containers stacked like towers loomed over the harbor, their outlines dim against the mist. Sodium lamps hummed overhead, casting pale circles of light on the cracked pavement.
  • From their vantage point in an abandoned crane shack, the five assassins watched in silence. Below, Hardy’s men moved with purpose, their flashlights bobbing as they checked locks and barked orders. Two white vans waited side by side, engines off, drivers smoking by the loading bay.
  • Kirk raised his binoculars, muttering under his breath. “Six guards at least. Maybe more inside. Looks routine.”
